Kickoff Session Reflections
- Technology is changing the way that we live and the way that we teach. Students access materials and learn in different ways. I would like to use this technology to engage students into meaningful lessons and enhance student learning.
- I anticipate learning about new websites, apps, and tools to enhance my teaching. There are many different things that I have been wanting to try and work with, and this camp will give me the time to explore and plan how to use these items meaningfully within my classroom.
- I would consider myself comfortable with technology, but still have so much to learn. Currently in my classroom, I use the SMART Board for interactive learning during class time. I am also completing my first year of implementing Flipped Classroom and use iPads on a daily basis. Web based programs that I use often for instruction include Moodle, You Tube, Kahn Academy, and Google Apps.
You are already VERY plugged in!! You will be leading our mini-courses at Grumpy's etc.
ReplyDeleteI aspire to be you.
ReplyDeleteKatie, you are a scarf wearing technology "esponja" just waiting to absorb new tools that that you can use in your classroom! I appreciate your post and am excited to read what else you create this summer. Maybe some fun things for Spanish?! It looks like you already have a couple of followers, too! Feliz verano chica :)
ReplyDeleteI hope that I can find a way to use our news skills (new for me anyway) to serve the 5th graders more effectively next year. Is there a better choice than the traditional weekly visit to the library for 5th graders? Perhaps a blog about genres, biographies or other 5th grade curriculum would be a place to start.
